A Sturgis Township woman will be sentenced next week following a plea deal in a case involving the death of her 2-year-old child.
St. Joseph County court officials said Paige Bohne, 21, recently pled no contest to charges of first-degree child abuse and assault with intent to do bodily harm. As a result of the plea deal, charges of murder and conspiracy to commit child abuse were dropped.
Bohne’s child was found unresponsive last November at a residence in the Memory Lane Mobile Home Park, a community south of U.S. 12 and west of Sturgis.
She is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 29 in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.
