Earl L. Augerbright, age 83, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Colon, passed away on August 30, 2025, at the Upjohn Care and Rehabilitation Center in Kalamazoo.
Earl was born on November 10, 1943 to the late Joseph and Bertha (Batten) Augerbright-Ross. He spent most of his life in the Colon area and was a graduate of Sturgis High School, Class of 1961. Earl faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
On July 21, 1965, he married Lorraine Dillon in Lawrence County, Ohio, at the family home. They shared 65 years of marriage together.
Earl worked for many years as a grinder at Sturgis Foundry Corp., retiring in 2003. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and ice fisherman. He was also a member of the Colon Masonic Lodge and the Marine Corps League. Earl generously volunteered his time at Twelve Baskets in Portage.
He is survived by his wife, E. Lorraine Augerbright of Kalamazoo; daughter, Melissa (Rodney) Tefft of Nottawa; grandson, Spencer (Emily) Tefft of Battle Creek; and three great-grandchildren: Blakely, Mateo, and Macklynn.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Augerbright, and his grandson, Dillon Tefft.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
