Maxyne G. Brewer, age 81, of Constantine, died on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Sparrow House in Sturgis. She was born December 17, 1943 in Fawn River Township, a daughter of Max and Grace (Hagerty) Clutter. Maxyne graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1962 and attended Ferris State University and Beauty School.
On April 12, 1969 she married Steven Brewer at the Constantine United Methodist Church.
Maxyne worked as a beautician and hairdresser at Jinny’s beauty shop in Constantine for 45 years. She was a member of Constantine United Methodist Church, Constantine American Legion Auxiliary, Meeks Mill Garden Club, Red Hat Society, and the Sweet Adelines in Sturgis.
Surviving are her husband Steven Brewer, Constantine, sons Charles (Karen) Brewer, Glasgow, Scotland, Thomas Brewer, LaGrange, IN, grandchildren Andrew Brewer, Hope (Austin) Acker, Conner Brewer, Krystine (Isaiah Fry) Brewer, Abygail Brewer, great grandchildren Aneeta, Kaylee, Xaiver and Lyla Acker, Kai Palmer, and Carter Fry, a brother Jim (Mary) Clutter and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings John, Arthur, William, and Maralyn Clutter.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held 11 am Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Constantine United Methodist Church. Pastor Karen Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Constantine Township Cemetery.
