Betty Eileen Algarin, age 79, of Sturgis, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 6, 1946 in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Samuel and Bertha Holland. Betty was a lifelong resident of the Sturgis area and a proud graduate of Centreville High School with the Class of 1964.
A devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty’s greatest joy was found in caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, word search and crossword puzzles, crocheting, and spending time in the outdoors. Her quiet strength, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John; daughter, Linda (Carl) Craw of Vicksburg; sons, David Algarin and Brian (Shelly) Algarin, both of Sturgis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, David Keith Algarin, Jr. and Tina Marie Algarin; and her brother, Bobby Holland.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
