Clarence Blood, 75

Clarence John Blood, age 75, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was born May 19, 1950, the son of John Howard & Bernice Louise (Mellor) Blood. Clarence attended Three Rivers High School, where he graduated in 1969.

Clarence started working at Simpson Paper Mill in Vicksburg that same year. He worked there for 32 years until they closed their doors. He then took some time off, and moved on to Peterson Springs in Three Rivers, where he spent 16 years before retiring.

While working at Simpson, Clarence met Jennie Kay (Roberts) through Mourice Ballman, a man who would later become his brother-in-law. Clarence & Jennie were married on March 24, 1973 in Moorepark. They had two children, Carl & Pearl.

Clarence loved hunting with his dad and uncles. Spending time with family was always a big thing and it didn’t matter if that meant just going down the road, to the next town over, or driving as far as Iowa and Wyoming or down to Ohio. He loved to joke around and pick on people.

Once the grandkids were born, he spent time playing with and going on vacations with them, just enjoying watching them explore and experience new things.

Brady and Jonny remember Grandpa being at all of their soccer games rooting them on.

Payton remembers the way Grandpa would smile from ear to ear when they picked him up at school. He was Grandpa’s little buddy.

He was also excited about finally getting a granddaughter when Brady and Gianni got married last month. He was honored to be a part of their day.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents John Howard & Bernice Louise (Mellor) Blood; and his sisters Kathryn Louise Blood & Karen Kay (Blood) Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Kay (Roberts) Blood; his son, Carl Blood; his daughter, Pearl Eberstein; and his grand-children, Brady (Gianni) Slack, Jonathan Slack & Payton Eberstein.

His family will receive friends Friday, October 31, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. (doors open at 11:00) at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Moorepark Cemetery.

Donations in Clarence’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
