David Bacon, 68

David Lee Bacon, age 68, of Colon, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Battle Creek following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Allegan on June 2, 1957 the son of Donald and Harriet (Parsons) Bacon.  David attended Vicksburg High School and was part of the 1976 graduating class.  On June 24, 1978 he married the love of his life, Kristine Briggs, in Sherwood, MI.  For many years, David worked at Dock Foundry/Metal Technologies in Three Rivers.

David was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life.  He loved loud Chevy trucks, listening to old country music (the good kind), and fishing in the local waters.  David was an avid ice fisherman, making memories with his family and friends, and even getting smacked in the face with a fish or two.  He was known for feeding the cranes the smaller fish, so they wouldn’t steal the big fish.  Most importantly, he protected and loved his family with all of his heart, especially his grandson.

David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kristine Bacon; four children; Georgette Bacon, Brandi Bacon, Heather Bacon, and David W. Bacon, Sr (Lindsay Stauffer); one grandson; David W. Bacon, Jr; three sisters; and Aunt Bev Parsons.  He was preceded in passing by his parents; his sister; and his brother.

In keeping with family wishes cremation is being conducted.  A private family memorial will take place at a later date.  Condolences and memories may be expressed to his family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
