Kathy A. Bergakker, age 69, of Portage, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 while in the presence of her loving family. She was born July 1, 1956 in Three Rivers, a daughter of Harold and Ruth (Church) Preston. Kathy graduated from Crystal Falls High School in 1976. On August 26, 1978 she married Jerry Bergakker in White Pigeon.
Kathy worked as a security guard for the Coca Cola plant in Paw Paw, and previously for Gerber Foods in Fremont. She enjoyed making diamond art and crochet.
Surviving Kathy are her husband Jerry Bergakker, Portage; daughter Amanda Bergakker, son Matthew (Dana Schaefer) Bergakker; several grandchildren; sister Suzanna Echola and brother LeRoy Preston. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Diana Bergakker, Caralene Skelton, Louise Lawson, and Vicky Ruth Preston; brothers Gordon Preston and Harold Preston Jr.
