Shelley Viola Yates, age 48, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at her home.
She was born April 2, 1977 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Donald Yates and Carol Keller, and attended Three Rivers Schools.
Shelley loved her cats and enjoyed listening to heavy metal music.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her father; sons, Damian and Lane Esarey; sister, Audra Sweet; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and by her brother, Ricky Paffhausen.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 3:00 at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.
Donations in Shelley’s memory may be directed to St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Shelley and I were good friends for a while back in the early 90s. We had a lot of fun making bad decisions together lol. I’m sorry to hear she’s gone so early 🙁
