Sturgis schools ok new positions

Sturgis Public Schools recently OK’d new positions to offset growing enrollment and needs.

During its Oct. 20 meeting, the board authorized a new first-grade teaching position at Wall School; a special-education teacher assistant at Eastwood School and Sturgis Middle School; special-education teacher assistant dedicated to Wall School; a physical education teacher at Eastwood to start in the 2026-27 academic year; and an administrator at Alternative Pathways to support its juvenile day treatment program, shared services and other programs.
