Brad Hillyard Leavitt, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in Three Rivers surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 14, 1952 to Von and LaRue (Hillyard) Leavitt in Las Vegas, Nevada, Brad spent his younger years in Southern California, where he developed a lasting love for the beach, surfing, swimming, and motorcycling.
A skilled carpenter and craftsman throughout his life, Brad began his trade in his early twenties as a proud member of the California Carpenters Union. His remarkable abilities in woodworking later expanded into a deep passion for the arts. Brad was a true visionary—an artist whose talents spanned painting, portrait sketching, and handcrafted rustic folk art.
Brad lived in California until 1996 before making his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Known for his charismatic personality, humor, and generosity, he brought warmth and comfort to those around him. He loved music, dancing, cooking, and entertaining, and he thrived in the company of family and friends.
Above all, Brad was an adventurer. He cherished traveling with the love of his life, Jonna, and embraced every opportunity to explore. A devoted golfer, he rarely passed up a chance to be on the course. His nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved made him a cherished presence in many lives.
Brad is survived by his Fiancé: Jonna Meyer of Louisville, KY; children: Lance (Brooke Toby) Leavitt of Memphis, TN; Nick Leavitt of Huntington Beach, CA; and Brooke (Tom) Clark of Eagle Mountain, UT.
