County voters approve Central Dispatch millage-renewal

In Tuesday’s countywide election, voters overwhelmingly approved a millage-renewal request being sought by St. Joseph County Central Dispatch to continue support for 9-1-1 service. Unofficial results indicate 89 percent of the voters approved the proposal, while just 11 percent were opposed. The millage rate will be lowered from its current rate of 1 mill to a nine-tenths of a mill. The renewal request is for a 5-year period.
