Franklyn D. Schragg Sr., age 91, of Centreville, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Birch Meadows Senior Care in Three Rivers. He was born February 18, 1934 in Sturgis, a son of John William “Bill” and Hazel (Rosine) Schragg. Frank graduated from Centreville High School in 1952. On June 14, 1952 he married Lydia Miller in Centreville and raised their four children together.
Frank retired from the engineering department of the city of Sturgis in 1995 after 36 years of service. He previously worked for the Village of Centreville as a combined position of Public Works Superintendent, Fire Chief, and Police Chief. Frank and Lydia attended Fish Lake Bible Church.
Frank was an accomplished builder and wood worker having built several homes for his family. Frank enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, mowing his yard or simply taking a walk in the woods. He also enjoyed music, playing the pedal steel guitar with the Stecy String Band along with his brothers. His family will cherish the memory of Frank always being there for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoying all of their school functions and various activities.
Surviving are his wife Lydia Schragg, Centreville, children Connie (Gary) Younts, Ormond Beach, FL, Tina (Robert) Lammon, Bradenton, FL, Frank (Judy) Schragg Jr., Centreville, Debbie Notestine, Centreville, grandchildren Michelle Roberts, Dawn Younts, Scott (Stacy) Lammon, Lori Lammon, Tara (Jeremy) Smith, F. David (Lauren) Schragg, III, Steven (Brittany) Schragg, Nicole Notestine, Kali (Matt) Cooper, great grandchildren Hannah Roberts, Norah, Dayne and Cade Lammon, Maelyn and Gage Grosskunze, Kearia Schragg, Wyatt Notestine, Dylan (Kim) Smith, Keegan (Brooke) Smith, Hayden (Shelby) Smith, great great grandchildren Bentley, Colton, Maddie, Dominic, Hannah, Rocky and Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren James and Kristine Notestine, brothers Jimmy, Edmund “Mike”, Robert, Victor, John, Carlyle “Joey” and sister Ireta “Susie” Zehr.
