Preliminary examination waived by TR woman in CSC case

A Three Rivers woman who faces charges related to criminal-sexual conduct has waived her preliminary examination.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deb Davis said the next step for the case against 28-year-old Kaitlyn Sands is a Circuit Court status conference.

Investigators have alleged Sand met the victims through her work as a contract employee in food services at Mendon Jr./Sr. High School and used various social media platforms to contact the victims repeatedly.

Davis said Sand faces charges that include two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Davis said the charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in Mendon and Three Rivers.

The date of a status conference has not been set.
