Garrett Myland, assistant manager and engineer, was chosen to replace current manager John Lindsey, who plans to retire at the end of January.

Myland’s appointment was made during the road commission board’s Oct. 29 special meeting. The 39-year-old Myland will assume the role Feb. 1.

He has been with the road commission for 13 years, serving the past seven years in his current capacity.

Agency officials said Myland’s annual salary will be $135,000.
