Shawn DeHuff, 44

Shawn Daniel DeHuff, age 44, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.  He was born in Sturgis on May 10, 1981, the son of Duane and Susan (Merwin) DeHuff.  Shawn attended Three Rivers High School and obtained his diploma with the class of 2003.  Shawn was a talented chef, working at many surrounding area restaurants.  He would often experiment with dishes at home, using different spices, techniques, and cooking equipment, which led to his family and friends being the food testers of his creations.  Since Shawn was a little boy, he loved and collected matchbox cars, accumulating many models over the years.  Shawn loved his family and his close friends.  Spending quality time and being “Uncle Shawn” to his friends’ children was a title that he loved dearly.

Shawn is survived by his parents; Susan Schull and Duane (Daryl) DeHuff; siblings; Shannon Pryor, Shane DeHuff, and Sara (David) Kirby; his uncle, James Merwin; his aunt, Cindy DeHuff; and many nephews, extended families, and close friends.  Shawn was preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents; Gilbert and Betty DeHuff, and his maternal grandparents; Harold and Dorothy Merwin; his uncle, Norman DeHuff; and infant niece, Alexia Becker.

In keeping with family wishes, cremation is being conducted.  A private family gathering will take place in the spring of 2026.  It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, to enjoy a meal at your local restaurant and support small town businesses.  Condolences and memories may be expressed to his family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
