Shipshewana light experience returns

A Shipshewana holiday tradition, Lights of Joy, returns with its opening this weekend.

With more lights than ever, Lights of Joy is the biggest drive-through light experiences in the region, according to its organizers. It features more than two million LED lights illuminating nearly two miles of magical scenes, traditional Christmas stories, lighted arches and animated displays.

The drive-through event opens Friday and continues through Dec. 31. It is sponsored by Shipshewana Trading Place and Blue Gate Hospitality.

Hours of operation are 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturday. Cost is $30 per vehicle.
