Constantine seeks volunteers for luminary display

Constantine village officials are issuing a call-out for help with a longstanding Christmas Eve tradition.

The process of placing luminaries along Washington Street the evening of Dec. 24 will continue this year. Event organizers, however, are asking for assistance.

The display stretches from White Pigeon Road north to Broad Street. Organizers call it a simple yet meaningful project that creates a somber display for residents and visitors.

Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to show up at 4 p.m. Dec. 24 at Washington Street, anywhere between the aforementioned route. The task involves placing and lighting luminaries.

There is also an opportunity to assist on Christmas Day, as help is needed collecting the luminaries starting at 7 a.m. Dec. 25.
