Dennis Reames, 69

Dennis John Reames, age 69, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. After an eleven–month battle with cancer, Dennis showed unwavering strength and courage.

Born on November 21, 1956 to Wardell “Bud” and Patricia “Pat” (Mayer) Reames in Three Rivers, Dennis remained deeply rooted in the community he loved.

On February 20, 1982, he married the love of his life, Gail (Swartz) Reames, in Three Rivers, and together they built a life full of dedication, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dennis worked as a lineman for AEP for 37 years, a career he took great pride in. His passion for mechanics led him to earn his ASD certificate, and he spent countless hours working alongside his sons on his beloved ’65 Cobra and ’55 Ford.

A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer hunting, shooting, camping, kayaking, and family vacations—especially those that allowed him to be close to nature and those he loved most.

Above all, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He never missed a sporting event, coached youth baseball, and supported his children in every step of their lives. His proudest accomplishments were the family he and Gail built together. He will be forever remembered for his humor, his warm heart, and his signature line: “Gail, you did it wrong.”

Dennis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gail Reames of Three Rivers; his children Melanie (Bradley) Morrill of Three Rivers, Chevron Reames of Portage, and Tyson (Leslieann) Reames of Constantine; grandchildren Summer and Savannah Morrill, and Aiden and Allie Reames; his siblings Melody Armstrong of Portage, and Jeff Reames of Three Rivers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Pat Reames.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
