John Krull, 96

John Robert Krull, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, concluding a long life marked by service, hard work, and devotion to family.

Born on May 29, 1929, a son to Raymond and Florence (Wenzel) Krull, Sr. John came of age during a time that shaped a generation defined by perseverance and duty. In 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War. He was deployed as a radioman along the front lines and later served as a military policeman in Japan. His military service left a lasting impression on him and instilled a deep belief that war carried profound costs—often reminding his family that peace should never be taken for granted.

Following his military service, John dedicated himself to a career in the skilled trades as a proud member of the Kalamazoo Carpenters Union, spending over forty years will the Miller Davis Company. He carried great pride in his work and in organized labor, values he held firmly throughout his life. Known for his strong opinions and convictions, John believed deeply in standing up for working people and the dignity of labor.

John was an active member of several community and veterans’ organizations, including the Knights of Columbus at Immaculate Conception, the Three Rivers VFW, the American Legion Post # 170, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2303. These affiliations reflected his appreciation for fellowship, service, and shared experience.

Later in life, John married and became a husband and father. He valued family, independence, and providing through hard work, and he remained committed to the responsibilities he believed those roles carried. Those who knew him best understood him as a private man—shaped by his era, his experiences, and the hardships of a long life.

John lived to the age of 96, bearing witness to nearly a century of change. His life story is one of endurance, conviction, and service, and it reflects the complexity of a man formed by difficult times and unwavering beliefs.

John is survived by his son, John Edward Krull (Hope); and his sister, Mary Florence Krull-Gallo, of Natick, Massachusetts; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Krull, his parents, Raymond Krull Sr. and Florence Krull; and his brothers, Raymond Krull Jr. and Charles “Chick” Krull.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Friday, January 2, 2026 at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI, 49093. Rosary will be resighted at 10:00 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers. Interment will follow at at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers.

John is remembered by his family and those who knew him, and his life stands as a reminder of the sacrifices made by his generation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that his memory be honored through recognition of service, hard work, and commitment to those we love.
