Patricia Lee Blosser, age 85, of Burr Oak, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, at the home of her daughter Annette in Burr Oak.
She was born March 21, 1940 in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Carl and Lenora (Holtz) Eckert.
Pat was a lifelong Burr Oak resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1958. In 1965 she married Richard Clare Blosser at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak. Although their marriage later ended in divorce, the two remained the best of friends throughout their lives. Richard preceded her in death on July 4, 2021.
Pat retired in 2005 from Sturgis Tool & Die, where she served as an administrative assistant. Prior to that, she worked for many years at Central Builders Supply in Sturgis, eventually becoming office manager until the company’s closing.
A devoted and very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak, Pat volunteered in countless ways. She served on numerous boards, participated in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, sang in the church choir, and—together with her brother Ted—founded the church food bank. She was a constant presence in the kitchen for luncheons and events, oversaw the morning coffee hour, founded the church bazaar, organized many Thrivent Financial fundraisers, and served as financial secretary for the Gateway Zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Her famous Amish cinnamon bread will be especially missed by all who were fortunate enough to enjoy it.
She is survived by her daughters: Annette (Gregg) Wilson of Burr Oak and Patricia (Michael) Herman of Burr Oak; her sons: Richard Clare “Rick” (Dianne) Blosser of Bronson and Benjamin “Ben” (Laurie) Blosser of Burr Oak; 14 grandchildren: April, Mike, Justin, Erin, Kirstin, Glenn, Abigayle, Brooke, Cedric, Rachel, Elizabeth, Grant, Nicole, and Sarah; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Theodore Eckert.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 12th at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road in Sturgis. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, December 13th from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 218 W. Main Street in Burr Oak, where funeral services celebrating the life of Patricia Blosser will begin at 3:00. The Rev. Kurt Kuhlmann will officiate.
A graveside committal will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery, with a time of continued fellowship and a shared meal immediately following the cemetery service in the church fellowship hall.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 218 W. Main St., Burr Oak, MI 49030.
