Judith Quirin, 76

Judith Ann Quirin, age 76, of Sturgis, was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved grandbabies on Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born March 26, 1949 in Battle Creek, the daughter of the late Wesley and Gertrude (Cooley) Saxman. Judi was a graduate of Colon High School with the Class of 1967 and furthered her education at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.

Judi had resided in Sturgis since 1971, coming from Leonidas. On December 4, 1971, she was united in marriage to Carl Quirin at the First Baptist Church in Sturgis, beginning a devoted union that spanned 54 years.

She began her working career at Paramount Furniture Company and later was employed by the Kirsch Company and Dr. Mancini Family Dentistry, all in Sturgis. In addition, Judi faithfully served the community as Fawn River Township Clerk for 25 years.

A longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Sturgis, Judi could always be counted on to help arrange funeral luncheons and was a member of the Old Baptist Group. She was proud to be a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and generously served as a 4-H leader for over 10 years.

Judi enjoyed baking, cooking, decorating for the holidays, shopping, and attending auctions and garage sales. The family cabin in Watersmeet, Michigan held a special place in her heart. While she had many hobbies and involvements, what Judi loved most was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 54 years, Carl Quirin; her children, Amy (Phillip) Propst of Sturgis, Beth (Dan) Miller of Three Rivers, and Daniel (Rhana) Quirin of Sturgis; her cherished grandchildren, Ben, Evan, and Claire; her sisters, Kathy (Leon) Barrett of Colon and MaryEllen (Sam) Otterpohl of Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin; several grand-dogs; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Raymond Saxman and James Saxman.
