Box Out Cancer basketball event planned

St. Joseph County United Way has announced details related to its annual “Box Out Cancer” high school varsity basketball event and fundraiser.

The 2026 contest takes place Feb. 20 at Sturgis High School, where a varsity basketball doubleheader against Three Rivers is scheduled.

At 5:30, the Lady Trojans will tip-off against the Lady Wildcats. Then, at 7 o’clock, the boys squads between the same schools will take the court.

“Box Out Cancer” supports breast cancer awareness and the United Way’s Breast Cancer Fund. The event will also include a silent auction and bake sale, with all proceeds turned over to the Centreville-based agency.

Doors open at 4 p.m.
