Charles Franklin Ridley, Jr., age 54, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday evening, January 17, 2026, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born October 12, 1970 in Chicago, the son of the late Charles and Sharon Ridley. Charlie had resided in Sturgis since 2019, coming from Elkhart.
From the age of 18, Charlie was employed by Lozier Corporation in Middlebury, where he dedicated many years of loyal service.
Charlie took great pride in his home and enjoyed caring for his lawn, mowing grass, weed eating, and working on projects around the house. He also had a deep love for the game of football and was an avid and loyal fan of the Chicago Bears.
He is survived by his niece, Deborah (her fiancée, Justin Hull) Wilson of Sturgis; his sister, Jen Wilson of Elkhart; his brothers, David (Margaret) Balser and Richard Proctor, both of Elkhart; his aunt, Susie Proctor; and several cousins, Rob Proctor, Tina Proctor, Corey Proctor, Makenzie Proctor, and Tom Proctor.
In honoring Charlie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis has been entrusted with the arrangements.
