Community meals will benefit Centreville cancer patient

A community breakfast and dinner to benefit a lifelong Centreville resident will take place this coming weekend.

Proceeds from the 8 to 10 a.m. breakfast and a 4 to 7 p.m. dinner Saturday, will be turned over to Scott Allen. Event organizers said the funds will help Allen with medical-related expenses as well as transportation for cancer-related medical treatment.

Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. The dinner menu features sloppy joes, scalloped potatoes and baked beans.

In addition, raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

The breakfast and dinner will take place at the Burr Oak Missionary Church on North Third Street.

Allen is a village of Burr Oak employee.
