Jacob Randall Holdeman, age 45, of Cassopolis, went home to be with his Savior, Saturday, December 27, 2025 in the comfort of his family’s presence.
His life began March 2, 1980 in Goshen, Indiana the middle of three children born to John and Janell Holdeman. He married Nicole L. Mansfield August 1, 2009 in Elkhart.
Jake was devoted to his young daughter and was quick to think of entertaining things to do with his nephews and nieces. He enjoyed backyard fires with family and friends, hard work around the homestead, and looking for and finding deals.
His own youth was filled with being active: running, bicycle riding, shooting with family and taking a shot at the Strongman competition at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. Jake’s faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was continually maturing thanks to many disciplers along his life’s path. His faith is now made sight and he is healed of all pains and struggles of life.
Jake will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixteen years, Nicole Holdeman of Cassopolis; one daughter, Brielle Holdeman; beloved parents, John (Janell) Holdeman of Bristol; two brothers, Jason (Cassandra) Holdeman of Jones, Joshua (Jamie) Holdeman of Elkhart; five nieces, Kelsey (Kyle), Rebekah, Anya, Madison, Kalyssa; seven nephews, Caleb (Jocelyn), Jared, Landon, Boaz, Elek, Hudson, and Tancred; supportive in-laws, Joel (Melodie) Mansfield, LeAnna (Craig) Comstock of New Zealand; and Kara Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Family and friends will gather Friday, January 9, 2026 for a memorial service at 4:00 at Decatur Bible Church, 80797 M-51, in Decatur. Jake will be laid to rest in a private graveside service in Young’s Prairie Cemetery in Cassopolis.
