Larry D. Hiles, age 79, of Constantine, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on Monday, November 17, 2025. He was born February 11, 1946 in Kalamazoo, a son of Walter and Vera (Selner) Hiles. Larry attended Vicksburg Community Schools. On November 15, 1980 he married LaVonne Garrison in Vicksburg.
Larry worked as a mechanic for Kalamazoo Rent-a-Trailer, and later for Kool Chevrolet in Sturgis. Most recently he worked maintenance for Management Resources Development, retiring in 2014. Larry was a member of Centreville Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed fishing, and most of all, loved cookouts and family time. Larry was a father figure to his grandchildren.
Surviving Larry are his wife, LaVonne Hiles, Constantine; children Laura Hiles, Bloomingdale, Larry Hiles, Jr., Cascade, Barbie (Tracy) Laughman, Constantine, Carla (John) Allbee, Constantine, Dawn (Todd Ailes) Coburn, Constantine, Ronald (Gena) Coburn, Constantine; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Susan (Lyle) Lester, Delton; and special friend Denny Phillips, who was more like a son. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Lisa Sturdavant; brother Walter Hiles; and sisters Vera Zugel and Mary Feldpaush.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Centreville Seventh Day Adventist Church, 23683 M-86, Centreville, MI.
