Margaret Warren, 90

Margaret Jane Warren, 90, of Vandalia, died peacefully Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in the comfort of her family’s presence.

Her life began May 27, 1935 in Millersburg, Holms County, Ohio the middle of five children born to Roy and Claudia Fites.  She married Aaron K. Warren, MD August 18, 1957 in Greensburg, Ohio.  After fifty-seven years of marriage, he preceded her in death May 15, 2013.

Margaret was raised on a large farm family in Ohio.  She was the first in her family to go to college. She attended Anderson College, which is now Anderson University, in Anderson, Indiana.  This is where she met Aaron and they married following her graduation in 1957.  She went on to teach 1st and 2nd grade in both Anderson and Indianapolis for six years.  She and Aaron moved to Cassopolis in 1964.  She became active in church ministries and community organizations and served for a time as a preschool teacher.  She enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She cherished gatherings with family and friends.  She loved to laugh as she had a witty sense of humor.  She continued to teach and mentor throughout her life in many ways.

Margaret will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She is survived by daughters, Diane (Kenneth) Rau of Cassopolis, Debra (Stephen “Derek’) Hadfield of Albion; son, Dwaine (Cynthia) Warren of Jones; five grandchildren, Kenneth (Kylie) Rau of White Pigeon, Peter (Emily) Rau of Ashburn, Virginia, Sarah (Timothy) Zimmer of Bristol, Indiana, Samuel (Grace) Warren of Columbus, Ohio, Zane Hadfield of Albion; six great grandchildren, Annaliese, Adeline, Aaron, Leia, Grant, Jack; sister, Ola Neidert of North Canton, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; her siblings, Carol Hines, David Fites, Ruth Harmon; and granddaughter, Zoe Scout Hadfield.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 5:30 to 8:00 at Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Family and friends will gather Friday, January 30, 2026 from 1:30 until time of funeral service at 3:30 at the First Church of God, 21083 Spencer Road, Cassopolis.

The family prefers contributions in memory of Margaret be made to the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) Missions, care of the First Church of God, 21083 Spencer Road, Cassopolis, Michigan 49031.
