Pamela Penninger, 78

Pamela Kay Penninger, age 78, of Sturgis, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Skaggs Assisted Living in Burr Oak. She was born February 3, 1947 in Elkhart, a daughter of Robert and Phyllis (Funkhouser) Hudson. Pam graduated from Jimtown High School in Elkhart. On July 25, 1970 she married John Penninger, Sr at Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. He preceded her in death January 6, 2003.

Pam worked at Elkhart Baptist Christian School as custodian and in food service, for LeRoy’s Body Shop in Elkhart, and retired as clerk for Porter Township in Union.

She attended Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart, and Chapel Hill Missionary Church in Union, where she was known as a prayer warrior. Pam loved music, Notre Dame, and especially her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children John Penninger Jr., Jones,  Amy Jo Hunt, Sturgis,  Robert Penninger, Elkhart,  grandchildren Tanner (Brooke) Hunt, Codi (Alexander) Noriega, great grandchildren Evelyn Hunt and William Hunt, sister Mary Edmonds and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Hudson and son in law William Hunt.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday Jan. 4, 2026 from 4 to 7 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held at 11AM Monday, Jan. 5th at Chapel Hill Missionary Church, 14525 Chapel Hill St., Jones, MI. Pastor Jeff Snider and Pastor Nathan Breneman will officiate. Cremation will follow services with ashes buried in the Olive Cemetery in Wakarusa, IN. In appreciation of the love and care from Pam’s caregivers, the family has requested donations be directed to Skaggs Assisted Living.
