Rep. Walberg to meet with county officials

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg meets with St. Joseph County officials today to discuss more than $1 million in community-project funding.

Event organizers said the focus centers on funding he voted for to make improvements to the county’s emergency communications system.

Walberg backed legislation that includes funding for community projects within Michigan’s 5th District, including the central dispatch project for St. Joseph County.

Funding would be used to ensure that St. Joseph County’s emergency communications system provides reliable coverage county-wide.

The project was included in a package of three appropriations bills that passed the House recently.
