Robert Walter Moss, age 69, of Howe, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025 at I.U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 22, 1955 in Sturgis, a son of the late Alfred D. and Ida Lenore (Forsberg) Moss. Bob spent most of his life in Sturgis, with the exception of the 10 years he lived in Delton.
On July 16, 2025, he married Misty Diamond in LaGrange.
Bob retired from Kendall Electric in Kalamazoo following more than 20 years of dedicated employment as an Electrical Construction Coordinator. He was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1974, and furthered his education at Glen Oaks Community College, where he earned an associate degree.
He was a proud member of numerous fraternal and service organizations including Eagles Lodge #1314, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1381, Loyal Order of Moose #574, Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 V.F.W. Men’s Auxiliary, and Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 Sons of the American Legion.
Bob enjoyed playing golf and the piano, watching football, and cooking. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Misty; daughters, Nicole (Brandon) Zartman of Warsaw, Indiana, and Elizabeth Mitchell of Delton; son, Michael (Alyssa) Moss of Galesburg; 14 grandchildren; twin sister, Barbara (Scott) Smith of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Dr. John (Marcia) Moss of Punta Gorda, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Dan Sims.
In honoring Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 11th at VFW Post #1355, 264 W. Fawn River Rd. in Sturgis where a celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Bob’s nephew Pastor Peter Smith will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
