Volunteers needed for Homeless Point in Time census

Organizers behind the annual Homeless Point in Time census coming up later this month are looking for volunteers to help with the effort in St. Joseph County.

Its purpose is to record people who are homeless overnight, sleeping in areas not meant for human habitation.

Laura Brott, collaborative coordinator with the St. Joseph County Human Services Commission, said any agency worker willing to collect information for the Jan. 28 count would be appreciated. The count will start in the evening.

Furthermore, Brott asked that if people come to a county agency and report they were homeless the night of the count, that the agency worker complete a volunteer form noting the information.

More information is available from Brott at: 269-625-1820.
