Dennis Floyd Loudenslager passed away unexpectedly at his home in Wyoming, MI on Sunday, January 18. He was 76 years old.
Dennis was born on March 18, 1949 in Colon, a son of the late Edwin and Francis “Marian” (Decker) Loudenslager. He graduated from Colon High School in 1967.
Denny most loved “mushroomin” in the Northern Michigan forests, doing landscape projects around his house and at his kids’ houses, and lazing in the sun by his pool every chance he could. Denny spent his days playing cards, going on walks with his beloved dog Jack, and eating sweets, but he was happiest when he was with his family.
He couldn’t have been prouder of his children: a son, Christopher (Nancy) Loudenslager and a daughter Angela (Sean) Martin. Denny couldn’t have been a better grandpa to his girls, Sarah and Ashleigh. He is also survived by brother David (Pamela) Loudenslager, brother Gerald (Patricia) Loudenslager, and several nieces & nephews. Preceding in death are his parents, his sister Sandra Alber, and his faithful black lab, Jack.
In lieu of a funeral, the family received friends and relatives from 2 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, at the Colon American Legion. A private family celebration of life will be held in the Spring amongst a forest full of morels.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan in place of flowers.
Arrangements by Schipper Funeral Home.
