A Coldwater man riding a scooter died last week after he was struck by a vehicle in Coldwater Township.
Branch County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 12:45 p.m. Thursday to a two-vehicle crash on North Union City Road, near Narrows Road.
Investigators concluded the 60-year-old victim, identified as Michael Coscarelly, was traveling south on an electric scooter when he was struck by a passenger vehicle driven by an 89-year-old Coldwater resident, Betty Ward.
Paramedics attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured, deputies said.
Authorities noted weather conditions may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
