Fatal Nottawa Township crash

A Sturgis-area man died Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash in Nottawa Township.

Sheriff Chad Spence said deputies were called at 6:20 p.m. to the area of M-86 and Findley Road in response to a personal-injury crash.

Authorities said a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Thomas Lang was traveling west on M-86. Lang attempted to pass a semi-tractor trailer but his vehicle allegedly collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound.

Life-saving measures were initiated at the scene. However, Lang succumbed to his injuries.

Information about the eastbound driver was not included in a department-issued media release.
