ISD identifies 3 finalists for superintendent

St. Joseph County Intermediate School District Board members plan to meet with three finalists for the job of ISD superintendent.

During board action last week, the list of three candidates was established from a pool of eight people who applied to replace Teresa Belote, who is retiring in June.

The candidates are: James Berry, director of career and technical education at the Centreville-area ISD; Spencer Byrd, a Jackson County native who currently serves as superintendent of Cheboygan Area Schools; and Pamela Campbell, middle school and high school math teacher at Covenant Christian School in Mishawaka.

An advisory committee has been assembled to provide additional input in the process.

Interviews will be held at 4 p.m., 5:30 and 7 o’clock March 16 at the ISD’s Shimmel Road headquarters.

The board is scheduled March 23 to identify candidates for a second round of interviews.
