Local fresh food distributions

Here’s a look at February’s Fresh Food Distribution events in St. Joseph County.

Seventh-Day Adventist Church, east of Centreville on M-86, hosts the first distribution of the month. It starts at 4 o’clock Tuesday.

First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis is next. Its distribution is at 4 p.m. Thursday at 1320 S. Lakeview Ave.

Constantine High School hosts the following event, beginning at 3:45 Feb. 17 in the school’s bus circle. Event organizers said potential recipients are not allowed to line up until 3:20 p.m. due to student safety and dismissal times.

Railroad Park in Burr Oak is the location of the following distribution. The 60-minute session starts at 3 p.m. Feb. 18.

Two distributions occur Feb. 19. The first starts at 10:30 a.m. at Gateway Village Apartments in Sturgis. Later that day, a distribution begins at 4:30 p.m. at Colon High School.

The Huss Project in Three Rivers will be the location of the following distribution. It commences at 9 a.m. Feb. 21 at its property on 8th Street.

White Pigeon High School stages the final distribution of the month. It begins at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 24.

St. Joseph County Transportation Authority offers a ride at no charge to Tuesday’s event at Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Rides must be secured more than 24 hours in advance and can be reserved by phoning the Three Rivers-based agency, at 273-7808.
