Man arrested after barricading himself in Calhoun County

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office last week apprehended a man who had barricaded himself inside a residence with multiple firearms.

According to an agency media release, deputies were called around 7:30 a.m. Friday to an area in the 10000 block of Brown Road in Pennfield Township in response to a domestic situation.

A woman was freed from the suspect. She reported she had been assaulted and held against her will.

Members of the county’s Special Response Team were unsuccessful negotiating with the man. He still refused to evacuate the residence even after chemical mutations were deployed into the residence.

Ultimately SRT members entered the residence and took the man into custody. Charges include resisting and obstructing, unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence, according to authorities.
