Medical condition causes Cass County crash

A Niles man was injured after suffering a medical condition, resulting in a three-vehicle crash earlier this month in Cass County’s Pokagon Township.

Deputies responded at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 7 to M-51, near Pennsylvania Street, in response to a crash.

Investigators said Robert Ackerman II, 64, was driving southwest on M-51 when he suffered a medical situation. His vehicle left the roadway and crashed into two, parked vehicles that were unoccupied.

Ackerman was treated at Corewell Niles Hospital.
