TR basketball squads head to Sturgis

A high school basketball doubleheader is coming your way this evening, as Three Rivers boys and girls teams take part in a special Wolverine Conference matchup.

Both Wildcat squads will play Sturgis High School in contests hosted by Sturgis.

The annual “Box Out Cancer” high school varsity basketball event and fundraiser.

At 5:30, the Lady Trojans will tip-off against the Lady Wildcats. Then, at 7 o’clock, the boys squads between the same schools will take the court.

“Box Out Cancer” supports breast cancer awareness and the United Way’s Breast Cancer Fund. The event will also include a silent auction and bake sale, with all proceeds turned over to the Centreville-based agency.

Doors open at 4 p.m.

Tonight’s games will be carried live on WRCI 97.1 and 106.9 FM, starting around 5:25 for the girls contest. Coverage will continue for the boys game, with a scheduled start time of 7:15. The broadcasts will also be streamed online at wrciradio.com.
