Officials from the Three Rivers Promise announced a milestone has been reached.
The fund recently surpassed the $1 million mark in its community-driven fundraising campaign.
The achievement marks a major step toward the program’s initial goal of building a self-sustaining endowment to support the future of Three Rivers High School graduates, according to Three Rivers Promise board member Tom Lowry.
Ultimately, its fundraising goal is $3 million. At that point, Three Rivers Promise will begin accepting applications and awarding scholarships to eligible graduates.
Longterm, the Three Rivers Promise would like to create an endowment that provides tuition assistance for every qualifying student who has attended Three Rivers Community Schools for the last consecutive four years prior to graduation.
