Former Colon coach returns to serve as director of student services and facilities

A state-champion coach is coming home.

Robbie Hatten, who guided Colon High School’s varsity eight-man football team to a state title in 2020, announced this week he is returning to Colon and will serve as its director of student services and facilities.

Hatten has spent the past three years in Battle Creek as director of facilities and varsity football head coach at Pennfield Schools following seven years at Colon Community Schools.

His last day at Pennfield is March 13 and first day back at Colon is March 16.

Hatten did not indicate in a Facebook post whether he will return to coaching in Colon.

He stated, however, that he is happy to be back where his children attend school and where he and his family have been welcomed by the community.
