Gerald Bell “Jerry” Case, age 92, of Three Rivers, passed away Tuesday evening, March 24, 2026, at the Laurels of Coldwater.
He was born March 8, 1934 in Battle Creek, son of the late Allen and Julia (Bell) Case.
Jerry resided in Three Rivers since 2005, coming from Sturgis. On July 16, 1955, he married Marlene L. Cox at the Congregational Church in Leroy Township. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2012.
Jerry retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following over 30 years of dedicated employment as a security guard. He was a faithful and active member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Three Rivers, where he could be found most Sundays warmly greeting visitors at the front door and making sure the coffee was always ready.
He enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with family and friends, watching western movies, and he had a special love for his cat, Fred. Jerry will be remembered for his welcoming spirit, kind heart, and the familiar phrase that often began his stories, “Well, let me tell ya.”
He is survived by his son, Robert (Paige) Case of Coldwater; two grandsons, Joseph and Nicholas; sister, Pat Glant of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Marlene; and his son, Dennis Case.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 27th and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 28th at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Gerald Bell Case will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Donnie Brooks of Ninth Street United Methodist Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow at Congregational Cemetery in Leroy Township.
