St. Joseph County Intermediate School District has named an internal candidate as the agency’s next superintendent.
Board members on Monday agreed to offer the post to Jim Berry. He is currently career and technical education director for the Centreville-based ISD. He will replace Teresa Belote, who is retiring at the end of the current academic year.
Berry was one of three candidates interviewed for the job. Also interviewed March 19 were Cheboygan Area Schools Superintendent and Jackson County native Spencer Byrd, and Mishawaka-based Covenant Christian School math teacher Pamela Campbell.
Berry has worked for the ISD since 2022. He was previously employed for 22 years in Berrien County at St. Joseph High School.
