James Christian Wolff Jr., age 91, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Orchards of Three Rivers surrounded by family.
He was born December 8, 1934 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of James C. and Bertha (Larsen) Wolff Sr., and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953.
After graduation James moved to Michigan, where he married the love of his life Genevieve Gardner in Lawton on June 15, 1957.
He was drafted into the United States Army until his discharge in 1960; two sons were born during his time stationed at Ft. King in Seattle. After his return to Michigan, their daughter was born, and he began working at different manufacturing plants until he retired from General Motors in 1996.
James was an avid woodworker who sold his creations at his business, “Wood-N-Things.” He was a founding member of the Aerobatic Aces RC model airplane club, a Boy Scout leader for his sons, and a member of the UAW 2093 retirees. He was quite knowledgeable about trees, plants, and the outdoors.
As a family they enjoyed trips to Idaho every summer where Genevieve mapped out a unique camping route along the way as they taught the children about the United States. He and Genevieve loved traveling back and forth to Florida every winter.
Remaining to cherish his memory are sons, David Wolff and Karl Wolff; daughter, Judy (Roger) Brown; grandchildren, Nicole, Reanee, Jason, Heather, Jessica, Megan, and Ashley; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, on July 27, 2021; great-grandson, Wyatt Turner; brother, Harold Wolff; and many extended family.
His family will receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Brenda Deily officiating.
