Judge Stutesman announces cancer diagnosis

St. Joseph County Circuit Court Judge Paul Stutesman said he wants to make the public aware of a health situation in order to end rumors and speculation.

Stutesman last week issued a statement on his Facebook page, where he said he has a rare sarcoma cancer growth in his left thigh.

Stutesman said he noticed the growth in November.

Treatment will involve a short course of chemotherapy, followed by radiation and then surgery.

Stutesman said at this point, the growth has not metastasized.

Stutesman was appointed St. Joseph County Circuit Court judge in July 2005.
