No students were injured after the school bus they were in was struck by a vehicle earlier this week in Colon Township.
Nottawa Community School Superintendent Jerome Wolff issued a statement detailing the situation, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Monday.
Wolff said the driver of the bus was exiting a private driveway on M-86 near Lepley Road when it was struck. Wolff did not indicate whether it was struck on the driver’s side or passenger’s side.
A Nottawa School employee stopped to assist passengers with exiting the bus. Wolff said evacuation protocol was followed and the process was executed in a textbook manner.
The bus driver suffered minor injuries and was evaluated at a local hospital.
No information about the other driver was included in a media release.
