It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of RoseMary Hunter, who departed this world peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 14, 1942 in Three Rivers, RoseMary was the cherished daughter of Luster and Dorothea Liby.
RoseMary’s life was a testament to love, dedication and an indomitable spirit. She was a beloved sister to her late brothers, Rodney, Ray, and Jim Liby, and is survived by her devoted sister, Brenda Rentfrow, and brother-in-law, Jack Rentfrow.
On August 21, 1965, RoseMary married the love of her life, Douglas G. Hunter, in Centreville. Together, they wove a tapestry of memories over 60 wonderful years, sharing adventures that included traveling, hiking, water skiing, jet-skiing, snowmobiling, camping and cheering at countless athletic events with family and friends. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment and companionship.
RoseMary’s legacy lives on through her children, Marc (Joyce) Hunter, Michael (Carmita) Hunter, and Nicole (Laurie) Hunter. Her grandchildren—Madison Hunter, Ross (Carlee) Hunter, Maxwell Hunter, Ryan Nowicki, Carson Hunter, Maya Hunter, and Mari Hunter—were her pride and joy and she reveled in their accomplishments and lives.
A graduate of Centreville High School in 1960, RoseMary pursued her passion for music and education by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling. She dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a music teacher, French teacher, and guidance counselor in the schools of Branch and St. Joseph counties. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, as she was a member of the Constantine United Methodist Church and shared her beauty and grace as a Mary Kay beauty consultant for many years.
RoseMary was known for her quick wit and commentary, particularly during spirited sports discussions. She was an ardent fan of the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan, often bringing laughter and insight to those around her during a game.
A visitation will take place on Monday, March 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Eley Funeral Home, 280 S. Washington St., Constantine, MI 49042. Join us in celebrating the life of RoseMary Hunter on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Constantine United Methodist Church, 285 White Pigeon St., Constantine, MI 49042 with visitation at the church from 10:00 am until the time of services. As we gather to honor her memory, we will remember RoseMary as a beacon of kindness, wisdom, and joy—a woman who lived her life with elegance and an open heart.
