St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department asks that potential volunteers wishing to lend a hand to cleanup efforts in Three Rivers register through the St. Joseph County United Way.
Registered volunteers cleared through the agency will meet at 143 W. Michigan Ave., but must first call ahead to register. The United Way’s number is 467-9099.
Agency director Kelly Hostetler is the point-of-contact person for the volunteer-coordination effort.
She will be stationed at United Way’s blue bus and offering relevant supplies at the West Michigan Avenue location. Hostetler said there is no need for chainsaws at the moment, as emergency officials continue to identify locations where downed wired might present a hazard.
