Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport officials have issued a media release related to United Airlines’ returning service to Chicago O’Hare.
Airport director Craig Williams said the service was to begin in late April but has hit a snag.
Due to temporary capacity constraints in Chicago, the Federal Aviation Administration has placed operational restrictions affecting United Airlines and American Airlines.
As a result, United has delayed its start of service to and from AZO to June 1, Williams said, adding the decision was made by the airlines and FAA; the airport had no input into the matter.
The announcement about United returning to AZO was made in January and, once it resumes, will mark the end of a four-year absence in Kalamazoo.
