Nancy Ann Hearld, age 78 of Sturgis, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born May 8, 1947 in Alliance, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Betty (Kaser) Ream. Nancy resided most of her life in Sturgis and was a proud graduate of Sturgis High School, Class of 1965.
On May 17, 1969, she married the love of her life, David Hearld, in Centreville. Together they shared nearly 57 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, love, and devotion.
Following her graduation, Nancy began her career as an executive secretary to the plant manager at Ross Laboratories in Sturgis, where she worked until 1983. She later was employed at Mercer’s Stop and Shop for many years, where she became a familiar and friendly face to the community.
Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, and antiquing, and took great pride in her home and the meals she lovingly prepared. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, David; three sons, Brian Hearld and Scott Hearld, both of Sturgis, and Jeff (Ashley) Hearld of Granger, Indiana; and her beloved grandchildren, Allison, Leah, Coltan, Aubrey, Lucas, and Cassidy.
In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private placement of her remains in the Oak Lawn Cemetery Columbarium will take place at a later date.
